The Autism Spectrum: Awareness and Strategies
This session aims to develop understanding of difficulties with social interaction, communication, rigid thinking styles and sensory issues that are experienced by individuals with needs related to the autism spectrum, and the strategies that could be used to address these needs.

Practical Games and Activities to Promote Social Thinking 

A purely practical session involving games and activities to develop social awareness and social thinking. This course is aimed at Learning Mentors, TAs and Club Leaders.

Understanding Girls on the Autism Spectrum

The session focuses on understanding how girls on the autism spectrum present and suggests a range support strategies.

This session shares a range of apps that can be used to support children and young people with social, communication and interaction difficulties.

Tuesday 28th April 2015
An Autism Friendly School

With reference to the National Autism Standards (2012), evaluate inclusive practice in your setting and consider practical approaches that could enable the further development of autism-friendly practice. This course is aimed at staff with key SEN roles, including SENCos, school leaders and lead practitioners for ASD.

Tuesday 9th June 2015
The Autism Spectrum: Anxiety and Support Approaches

Examine the impact of anxiety on individuals on the autism spectrum, including sensory sensitivities, and the strategies that can be used to reduce anxiety.

 All courses run from 9.15am to 12pm & cost £50 per delegate.
