Aimed at Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

This course, aimed at staff in Early Years and Key Stage 1, focuses on approaches that can be used to develop social communication and listening skills and enhance the learning environment. This is an interactive course that will examine key early communication skills of listening, attention and early play in the development of social communication skills for all children. The course aims to support staff in developing children’s ability to play and learn together through effective use of their listening, communication and social skills. The course will explore ways of tracking progress (developmental levels and linking these to EYFS tracking) alongside fun and functional strategies to embed good practice at a universal and targeted level. Reference will be made as to how these skills further support later developing communication skills.
