Observing / Measuring Impact
Aimed at: Governors
Chris Gajewski – School Improvement Consultant
Chris Gajewski has had a broad range of experience within schools and local authorities nationally as a head teacher, school improvement partner and adviser. He is currently working as a freelance school improvement consultant and is also a lead assessor for the ‘Challenge Award’ which involves him assessing good and outstanding primary and secondary schools throughout the country to review the on-going quality or provision by observing learning, scrutinising work, interviewing staff, parents, governors and pupils and reviewing a broad range of evidence. His work is highly regarded by schools as he quickly establishes positive and effective working relationships through honest challenge and measured professional support.
This session will have two discrete but complimentary sections. The first will provide delegates with the opportunity to reflect on undertaking effective and supportive school observations beyond the classroom and how these can effectively support and enhance positive relationships whilst informing whole school evaluation and development planning. The second will review mechanisms for governors to use when measuring the impact of key decisions they have made. There will also be an opportunity to reflect on and discuss effective reporting back to the full governing body.
Attendance at the session will support governors as they develop robust mechanisms for evaluating the impact of their work.
