Chris Gajewski – School Improvement Consultant

Chris Gajewski has had a broad range of experience within schools and local authorities nationally as a head teacher, school improvement partner and adviser. He is currently working as a freelance school improvement consultant and is also a lead assessor for the ‘Challenge Award’ which involves him assessing good and outstanding primary and secondary schools throughout the country to review the on-going quality or provision by observing learning, scrutinising work, interviewing staff, parents, governors and pupils and reviewing a broad range of evidence. His work is highly regarded by schools as he quickly establishes positive and effective working relationships through honest challenge and measured professional support.


Content:
This session will support subject leaders in effectively managing their role as subject champions. In particular, the leadership and management aspects of their role will be explored. Techniques for evaluating standards and pupil outcomes will be shared. There will be a clear focus on:
  • Subject Evaluation
  • Reviewing the Learning Environment
  • Work Scrutiny
  • Talking to Pupils
  • Effective Staff Meetings
  • Reporting  to Governors
  • Action Planning
Attendance will support delegates to prioritise their actions as subject leaders and undertake activities for effective subject monitoring and development over time.
