Based in Wem, North Shropshire, St Peter’s Learning Centre offers a range of high-quality professional development opportunities for school staff. We operate a joint practice development approach to professional development and encourage participants to reflect on what they do in the classroom and work with colleagues in order to enhance their practice. We believe in active participation and practical application. Theory informs practice, and participants are empowered and encouraged to implement change initiatives as a result of the professional development experience. Professional development at our Learning Centre is not a ‘done to’ model but rather an interactive experience with: questioning, challenge and practical strategies being employed as a stimulus for change.
Our offer has three key strands:
Our aim is to promote school improvement by upskilling staff in the roles that they do. We provide professional development for a wide range of school staff, including Senior and Middle Leaders, Teachers, HLTAs, TAs, Team Leaders, Business Managers and Governors.
We work with a select group of very high-quality partners, chosen on the basis of their reputation and passion for raising standards and enhancing children’s educational experiences.
